Collection of quality furnished apartments and well maintained homes offering basic amenities for your stay.
Welcome to “Riverbend,” a beloved family home and retreat on the North Fork of the Shenandoah River that is now available for rentals of at least 30 days. Riverbend offers incredible natural beaty and seclusion, including gorgeous views of Massanutten mountain from the screened porch, 18 acres of woods and meadows, and of course, frontage on the wild and beautiful North Fork. Despite being surrounded by nature, Riverbend is only five minutes or so from the restaurants, grocery stores, and conveniences of Woodstock, a quaint and historic town in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley—and is a mere five-minute walk to award-winning Muse Vineyards. Looking farther afield, Riverbend is about 35 minutes from Winchester and 40 minutes from Harrisonburg, and (with no traffic) only 90 minutes from downtown Washington, DC. With a high-bandwidth fiber optic connection and a dedicated home office space overlooking acres of green space, Riverbend is a dream location for remote work. Each of Riverbend’s three comfortable bedrooms has its own dedicated full bathroom. The master bathroom includes an over-sized jetted tub and separate walk-in shower as well as his-and-her sinks, while one of the guest bathrooms features a bath/shower combination that is great for kids, and the third guest bathroom has a recently renovated walk-in shower. The well-appointed kitchen has everything you need for preparing home-cooked meals, and between the breakfast nook, dining room, and screened porch there are plenty of dining locations to choose from. The inviting and cozy great room—which features cathedral ceilings, a gas-powered fireplace that puts out significant heat, and 65-inch TV—is the perfect place for family games, movies, or just relaxing with a book. The finished basement is another great spot for movie watching, includes a treadmill and exercise mats, and is a great place for kids to play on rainy days. Outdoors there are approximately three acres of manicured lawn and a large fully fenced yard for dogs. The river is just an easy stroll away along a mowed path and is accessible via short stairs. The North Fork is fantastic for wading, kayaking, and fishing—kayaks and basic fishing gear are included. The paved driveway is a great place for kids to ride bikes, and during the warmer months you may have an opportunity to watch goats graze in the small fenced pasture. One of the entrances to Seven Bends State Park—which includes miles of scenic hiking and biking trails for all skill levels, a children’s play area, and convenient boat launches—is minutes away at the other end of the gravel road that leads to Riverbend. Wildlife abounds at Riverbend. Deer, turkeys, foxes, ospreys and bald eagles are relatively common sights. Black bears and bobcats are occasional visitors to the neighborhood and if you are very lucky you may see otters cavorting in the river. Please reach out with any questions you have about the property. We hope you’ll enjoy Riverbend as much as we have and create some wonderful memories there.

The one-lane bridge that provides access to Riverbend and other properties in the neighborhood is part of the rural ambiance of the area but has a drawback—after extended periods of heavy rain, it can flood. When this happens (roughly 4-5 times per year on average) the only way to leave the neighborhood is a (safe, state-maintained) suspension footbridge. We can work with you on how to track water levels and anticipate high water so that you can park a vehicle on the other side of the footbridge.
